Requirements
- For appointment to this position, the applicant must have: -
- i. A Bachelors’ degree in Law or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- ii. A Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;
- iii. Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
- iv. Membership in good standing of Kenya Law Society of Kenya or any other recognized professional body;
- v. A Senior Management Course or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
- vi. Proficiency in computer applications;
- Work Experience:
- i. Minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience in a Legal Environment;
- ii. At least 3 years in Middle Management Level;
- iii. Prior experience working on legal matters including but not limited to litigation, legal drafting, legal research and analysis and conveyancing shall be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
- The Officer will be responsible for:
- i. Conducting research on relevant laws and putting in place measures to implement policy decisions of the Judiciary;
- ii. Ensuring that the Judiciary complies with all applicable laws, regulations and procedures and continually update the Chief Registrar on any change of law;
- iii. Providing legal support to all the units under the office of the Chief Registrar;
- iv. Reviewing of legal documents to ensure that they comply with the law;
- v. Undertake litigation in court cases for and against the Office of the Chief Registrar and the Judiciary;
- vi. Representing the Judiciary in Arbitral proceedings in matters where the Judiciary is a party;
- vii. Liaise with the Office of the Attorney General and External Advocates in matters where they are representing the Judiciary;
- viii. Undertake and oversee the preparation of conveyancing documents and processes for the Judiciary; and
- ix. Preparing and reviewing of legal contracts.

- (f) Applicant’s recent coloured passport size photographs
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit valid clearance certificates from the following bodies during the interview: • Kenya Revenue Authority
- • Higher Education Loans Board
- • Directorate of Criminal Investigation
- • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
- • A recognized Credit Reference Bureau
- • Recommendation from the relevant Professional Body, as the case may be, as being in Good Standing
- • Advocates Complaints Commission
- • Law Society of Kenya
